MARION CLABORN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Marion Claborn was born and raised in Apache. He loved all things Apache. He was the first
Claborn male to graduate from high school and the first to graduate from college. He highly
valued academics, but he loved athletics. Marion always stated that sports kept him out of
trouble and in school. He was a 35 year veteran of coaching and started three high school
football programs in Oklahoma.
All Apache High School senior athletes are eligible to apply for the Marion Claborn Memorial
Scholarship.
The following requirements apply:
2.5 GPA or better
Plan to attend college
Lettered in athletics at least their senior year
Typed resume listing activities, honors, etc.
Typed essay consisting of 350 words requesting the money, explaining what athletics has
meant to you and what your future plans are.
The scholarship winner will receive an award after providing documentation of enrollment in
college. The recipient will be announced at the All Sports Banquet.
